"Jean-Luc Godard 1946-2006: A Journey to Utopia" (Voyage(s) en utopie JLG. 1946-2006 a la recherche d un theoreme perdu) was exhibited from March 11 to August 14, 2006, in the south exhibition room on the first floor of the Centre Pompidou. Jean-Luc Godard (b. 1930) is one of France's most renowned filmmakers and directors, a pioneer of the French New Wave who broke with traditional cinematic ideology, classical narrative, and aesthetic norms, developing new relationships between audiences and films: Breathless (1960), Contempt (1963), Pierrot le Fou (1965), La Chinoise and Week-end (1967), Je vous salue Marie (1985), JLG/JLG (1995), Eloge de l'amour (2001), and Histoires du cinéma (1998), among others. This exhibition is not a retrospective; rather, it explores the lost theorem through his films, images, drawings, objects, and installations.
