"Tihel - Alta(White)" - James Turrell-Alta(White)

"Tihel - Alta(White)" (James Turrell-Alta(White), exhibited March 8 to September 25, 2006 at the Centre Pompidou's Coussin Studio). Born in 1936, Tihel is one of the most innovative American artists since the 1970s. Within the radical aesthetics of minimalism, he builds upon the display of layered changes in light, analyzing the mutual influence of various spaces and lighting through "spatial environmental perception" from scientific and psychological perspectives. This exhibition features only one work, "Alta(White)" from 1967, an environmental space installation formed by light projected onto diagonal walls and the floor, creating a vertical triangular structure. Through this exploration, he developed his most representative "Light pieces."
