On July 6, gather at 8 a.m., take the RER from Bibliothèque François Mitterrand station to Versailles Rive Gauche. Today we visit Louis XIV, the "Sun King," and see how this monarch who once ruled Europe lived. Outside the palace, besides visiting the world's largest and most representative French-style garden, we can rent bicycles if possible to stroll and admire the gardens and canals. First, visit the world-famous Palace of Versailles (Jardin du Chateau de Versailles). Then, the most typical and majestic French garden (behind the palace: to see the garden layout, you must walk all the way to the canal; there is a bicycle rental spot nearby; rent a bike or walk to the Queen's Garden). You can have lunch or picnic at the restaurant by the garden canal. (Full-day itinerary)
